2004 - RACHAEL'S AWARDS

       
Rachael received the 2004 Angel Soft "Angels in Action" award for her work with kids and asthma...
Rachael was selected as a National Award Winner for the 2004 Build A Bear Huggable Hero Award for her work with Kids Helping Kids with Asthma.  Festivities took her to St. Louis, MO to the national BearQuarters to meet owner, Maxine Clark and the other kids from across the country.  We spent time at the St. Louis Humane Society and met Actors; Marc John Jeffries and Madeline Sweetin... Rachael and the kids (including her brothers) will be in the 2005 Build A Bear Calendar !
Rachael, Joel Zink and Jeff were interviewed by Brent Boynton (KOLO-TV) about Washington DC, asthma awareness.  Brent puts on all the medals earned by the youth, weighing his head down.....!!!

Prudential Spirit of the Community Awards in Washington DC, allowed all of us meeting many people!  My brother Jeff earned this award in 2002.  Guest speakers were Whoopi Goldberg, Cokie Roberts (ABC), Scott Peterson (Prudential President)

We had a wonderful meeting with Senator Harry Reid at the Capital, Garfield's creator, Jim Davis received the AANMA life time achievement award.

Rachael speaking at the AANMA Asthma Awareness dinner, why she is actively working for asthma awareness.  The following day, she and John-Henry are guests of Rep. Juanita Melinda McDonald on the House floor meeting other representatives and telling them about HR2023, a bill to allow children to carry life saving medications on themselves.  Her photo and story was on C-Span that evening when HR2023 was presented.  This once in a lifetime event made her realize that kids do have a voice!

     

Rachael received the Carson Valley Chamber of Commerce, community service award for her work with asthma awareness. (05/04)
